amy's colors, an original acrylic painting by George Porter was created in memory of Amy Wagner, a gifted artist and dear friend who contracted cancer of the spine in 2009 and valiantly fought the disease that left her paralyzed from the neck down for four years. Throughout her ordeal she remained a source of inspiration for friends and family, gradually learning to paint again using only her mouth and a mouthstick.
Like Amy's paintings, which were filled with rich, vibrant colors, George Porter chose bright vivid colors for his memorial painting of Amy. It is full of symbolism and a reflection of his deep-felt love and appreciation of Amy and her artwork. amy's colors was gifted to James Wagner, Amy's husband, and their two young sons where it remains in their private collection.
